Last night at The Palace was a good one. Whether it was the chilled vibes of Southern Shores, the synth driven dance pop of Kidstreet, or the New Wave textures and captivating persona of Twin Shadow, there was something for everyone
One of my favorite groups to come out of the Maritimes recently is the sun laden disco/house production duo Southern Shores. Their debut EP entitled "Atlantic" was released this summer by the oh so crisp Cascine Record Label, and since then they've been ready a pretty steady wave of positivity as sites such as XLR8R and Pitchfork have joined in on the hype.
You may have seen skateboarders surfing around town on blue tarps this past week, and wondered what it’s for. Well, the second annual Canadian Surf Film Festival will be taking Halifax by storm in only a couple of days, kicking off on Thursday, September 29th and running until Sunday, October 2nd.
We have a busy week ahead of us in Halifax, for us music lovers and surf loves alike. With the Canadian Surf Film Festival kicking off on Thursday, their are a variety of great events to attend to. From movie screenings to concerts at The Palace, the CSSF has done a great job of grabbing a hold of the cities attention.
